Height Bars
Vehicle height restriction bars for car parks and parking garages across New Zealand. Barrier Group supplies height bars to sites throughout Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, and beyond, helping facility owners eliminate costly vehicle and structural damage from oversized vehicles entering areas of restricted height. Choose from Group 1 (Cantilever Hanger) for standard clearances or Group 2 (Hanger Beam) for greater height and width requirements.
Height Restriction Bars for Vehicle Clearance Control
Vehicle Height Restriction Bars are common in car parks and parking garages to eliminate car and property damage by oversized vehicles entering areas of restricted height. Barrier Group Height Clearance bars are available in two groups that include a range of rail lengths in standard or oversized designs. Ideal for car parks and parking garages, our height restriction bars help reduce vehicle and property damage.
Every Barrier Group height bar is engineered to New Zealand and Australian standards, giving facility managers, body corporates, and property owners confidence that their clearance signage will hold up to daily traffic for years to come.
Height Bars with Cantilever Hanger
Designed to warn drivers of low overhead clearances before entering undercover areas or approaching overhead obstructions. Commonly installed in underground and multi-storey car parks, drive-throughs, and commercial facilities, Group 1 height bars are available in a range of standard lengths from 2m to 8m.
Each height bar in this range is supplied with chain suspension kits, LOW CLEARANCE lettering, and a number sticker kit for displaying the required clearance height, so your site is compliant and clearly signed from day one. Group 1 height bars are generally stocked, making them a fast, reliable choice for retrofit projects and new-build car parks alike across New Zealand. Constructed from powder-coated aluminium with steel and plastic componentry, and complying with AS/NZS 2890.1:2004, this range suits the majority of standard car park and parking garage applications.
Height Bars with Hanger Beam
Designed for applications requiring greater height and width clearances than the Group 1 range, Group 2 height bars are commonly installed in logistics facilities, loading docks, warehouses, and other industrial and commercial environments where wider openings and heavier traffic demand a more robust solution.
Available in lengths from 9m to 11.5m, Group 2 height bars are made to order and engineered for wind rating Region A or Region B, Terrain Category 2 — giving added peace of mind for exposed or high-traffic industrial sites. Like Group 1, every Group 2 height bar is supplied with chain suspension kits, LOW CLEARANCE lettering, and a number sticker kit, and complies with AS/NZS 2890.1:2004. If your facility spans a wide entrance or requires a custom rail length, Group 2 is the range built for the job.
Which Group Do You Need?
Both groups comply with AS/NZS 2890.1:2004 and are supplied with chain suspension kits, LOW CLEARANCE lettering, and a number sticker kit. Whether you're managing an underground car park in Auckland or a logistics yard in Christchurch, choosing the right group ensures your site meets New Zealand height clearance requirements while keeping vehicles, structures, and overhead services safe from impact.
