Pilot Belt Barrier Range
The Pilot Retractable Belt Barrier System brings a new level of functionality and versatility to pedestrian control, delineation and hazard management — a single, fully compatible ecosystem built around the 5, 10 and 25 metre belt units.
When Is a Pilot Belt Barrier Needed?
Pilot is a versatile solution for New Zealand facilities that need fast, repositionable pedestrian control without the cost or permanence of fixed fencing. Featuring Pilot's exclusive 'Twist-Lok' connection, the same belt unit can be adapted to posts, cones, wall mounts and magnetic holders in seconds.
A Pilot Belt Barrier is ideal when:
- Pedestrian or vehicle access needs to be controlled quickly and repositioned often;
- A doorway, aisle or loading bay needs temporary or semi-permanent delineation;
- Hazardous zones, maintenance work or spill areas need fast, visible cordoning;
- Multiple mounting surfaces — walls, posts, cones, steel structures — are in play across a site; and
- A consistent, branded belt colour or safety message is required across facilities.
Without a flexible barrier system, sites often rely on ad-hoc tape, cones or fixed barriers that can't adapt as needs change.
All-In-One Retractable Belt Barrier System
Rather than a haphazard solution of many different products, the Pilot system offers a single, fully compatible ecosystem of accessories and mounting options that allow you to customise your retractable belt barrier setup to meet your specific facility needs.
Built Tough for Daily Use
The Pilot body is moulded from tough nylon to take the bump and grind of daily life in the field. Each unit is fitted with a braked, locking belt clip, and crucial internals run on sealed stainless steel bearings and aluminium spindles — not plastic bushes — for a longer service life.
Flexible Mounting, One Twist-Lok System
The unique Twist-Lok connection allows compatible accessories to be switched between the belt units, and across a range of mounting options including posts, cones, and fixed or magnetic wall holders — all with a simple 'twist of the wrist'.
A Modular Pedestrian Control & Hazard Management System
No matter what your use is, where you use it, or when you use it, Pilot will guide you to safety. This unmatched flexibility and durability have made Pilot the retractable belt barrier system of choice for leading industrial and commercial facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

Warehouse Pedestrian & Vehicle Segregation Sorted for Ventia
Ventia needed a reliable way to separate pedestrian and vehicle traffic across a busy warehouse floor without disrupting daily operations or committing to permanent fencing throughout.
Barrier Group specified a Pilot Belt Barrier configuration matched to each pinch point on site, using Twist-Lok mounted units on posts and wall brackets to create clearly delineated, repositionable pedestrian and vehicle zones.
- Pedestrian–Vehicle Interaction: The new facility houses mixed activity zones, with areas changing dynamically depending on the operational requirements of site.
- Safe and Visible Access Points: Establishing robust, high-visibility pedestrian crossings and access points were crucial to ensure that employees could enter and exit activity zones safely.
- Segregation of Hazardous Zones: A dedicated area within the facility is required for storing hazardous materials. This space required complete segregation from general work areas to eliminate the risk of exposure.
